I think Komi have stayed consistently charming throughout the years, and I find even the fillers interesting, that’s just me though. I feel like the series would feel very fresh & fun if we have side characters showing up more & starting to be friends.

To me even though I binge read both and early year 3, I remember more of what happened in year 2 than year 1 and 3 combined because year 2 had many impactful moments, even in chapters you call „filler“. Masayoshi’s kiss with Shuuko was extremely impactful as it wasn’t something you would expect from a character like Masayoshi.

I am a sucker for realistic depictions of pain, jealousy & self-hate in love triangles. Komi could have had so many more painfully candid emotional expressions alone outside the church when Rumiko was talking to Tadano. I really want that moment to be highlighted, and her pain should have been shown in much more expressive ways.

This is just my opinion, but an ordinary friend would’ve said something like „okay, I’ll see you tomorrow then“ and respected their wishes. However, the fact that Komi insisted on sharing her umbrella shows that she cares deeply for him. Liking someone is usually like that, slowly but surely, inconspicuously, that when you notice love has already blossomed and the person you were somewhat fond of now you can’t take them out of your head.
